ZAMAN MÜZESİ

Zaman Müzesi(The Time Museum), also known as the Sille Chapel, was restored in 2012 and brought to tourism. It is the first and only “time museum” in Turkey which exhibits many rare artifacts related to time and calendars from the Ottoman and Republican periods.

The museum includes specially designed clocks from the Ottoman and Republican periods, agendas written by Ottoman pashas, pocket and desk calendars, and handwritten calendars used in government offices. The museum also has many precious artifacts such as gold and silver pocket watches, a calendar of the Turkish Aeronautical Association with geographical and economic data according to provinces, a sundial from the Roman period, and a reproduction of an Ottoman era sundial that is originally located on the qibla wall of the Hacı Hasan Mosque in Konya.
